The River Valleys chapter of the National Green Hats Society was formed several years ago for River Valleys Alumnae over the age of 50. The GSRV chapter membership age has been lowered to 40.
The group’s motto is “traditions.” They want to further the cause of Girl Scouting through members’ skills, interests and love of the outdoors. They have hosted encampments, sing-a-longs and concerts.
They are affiliated with the National Green Hats Society, which has an application but no membership fee. The GSRV chapter (Chapter 16) has a yearly membership fee of $5.
